HowTo:Play April Fools' pranks all year round

No, you'd think. This is a ridiculous idea. April Fools' pranks are terribly inappropriate when it's not April 1st. But what if you're very sick in the ICU or very busy on that day? I, for example, am always caught in a party because it is in fact my birthday. Your case is probably quite different; you, like <insert name here>, are lazy and don't want to manually edit pages every April Fools' Day and revert your edits every April 2nd. Fortunately, there is a piece of wikicode to solve the problem.

The code[edit | edit source]

{{#ifeq:{{#time:F d|now}}|April 01|Joke text|Normal text}}

Today it gives "Normal text." But to view its funny effect, you'll need to wait until April 1st. If you're impatient like me, you can alternatively change the April 01 in the code to the current date in the sandbox.

Usage[edit | edit source]

Although the code can create hilarious effects, inappropriate usage could result in a ban. This is more important on other, more serious wikis like Fandom game wikis. However, it is ignorable if you're using a proxy. You may also use the code on an Uncyclopedia admin's signature and get banned when he finds out about it.
