Here is my first big suggestion in a long time... I would like to implement some sort of an Uncyclpedia Administrative Noticeboard (UAN), alternatively Sysop Noticeboard (SN) in order to unify much of the Uncyclopedian administrative tasks that we have been performing. I think that the current system, which de facto is "scream on User talk:Cassie and wait", has many pitfalls, and that is despite how many talk page lurkers patrol my talkpage; having such a way of requesting things makes Uncyclopedia more complicated for newer users, who might not understand "why is this human's talkpage getting like 20k bytes a day?". As such, I would like to ask for community input on whether the implementation of an Uncyclopedia Administrative Noticeboard would be a good idea or no.

The premise of such a noticeboard would be extremely simple. It should be two or three pages, with one main page for most general requests, another page for protection requests, and (optionally) a third page for CheckUser requests and spambot reports; essentially a mirror of User talk:Cassie in its current state, albeit in a more "normative" fashion.

This noticeboard could be patrolled by all active admins, or at least a few, so replies can occur fast. Of course, user talk page requests can and will still exist. I am merely proposing a more "general" alternative where a user can contact all admins, and not just one. (Right now, contacting just "one" admin - me - is fine, since I'm probably doing 99% of the admin stuff, but as soon as there even is one extra active sysop, this "system" might break down.)

A good example of such a noticeboard would be the Miraheze stewards' noticeboard.

      • I know it sounds kinda selfish, but that would make me give up a lot of my say in the Uncyclopedia community unless my sanctions would allow me to edit it.           • "Of course, user talk page requests can and will still exist." That should take care of any notifications for any particular admins who need it. "This noticeboard could be patrolled by all active admins, or at least a few, so replies can occur fast." This would be a great, easy way for admins to take care of a lot of problems quickly and efficiently rather than having to squint and scroll through recent changes. Looks pretty good! I'd consider adding UN:AA and some sort of button similar to "Click here to start a new discussion" on WP:ANI. Yes it's obvious to a lot of us how to read and edit and start a new discussion there, but that could help new editors, especially with formatting. E.g. I'm assuming you intend the heading of each thread to be smaller than the "Current threads" heading, the button could help automatically do that. I'll create something more akin to the Miraheze noticeboard for it; it'll look both much cleaner and much better that way. However, note that if this passes (it most likely will) I'll only be implementing it post-VFS (like this we actually have multiple admins who can take care of much of this administrative stuff).  Cassandra  (talk) 04:04pm  March 25, 2021
