I mean to say, welcome, and thank you for your contributions. I do hope you like it here and choose to stick around.

Please remember to sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) or use the "sign" button () above the edit box. This will automatically produce your name and the date and will help you avoid annoying some people needlessly.

At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Manurebear/Article regarding stuff) so you may edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done slap a construction template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.

There are plenty of other things to do, of course. Often articles will require proofreading, among other fix ups, and for the more artistic of folks, there's the option of aiding articles that need more images and making them prettier, for instance.

If you need help or have questions, you may of course feel free to ask me on my talk page, ask at the Dump, ask on IRC, or ask an administrator on their talk page. Additionally, the Uncyclopedian Adopt-a-Noob program is here to bring experienced editors straight to you. If you would like, I would be more than willing to adopt you, or you may leave a message on any other adopter's talkpage to join.

Well, hey there. Thanks for giving me a warm welcome.

I never knew Uncyclopedia was this, uuh...friendly? I mean, I've been a fan of this website since a while back but I didn't think a friendly community even existed. Anyway, thanks for giving me a couple of useful links to use. I'm very familiar with some like HTBFANJS and Help:Editing but some I've never heard of before.

I'm only following one worthless - er, I mean NRV article so far. I am kind of a grammar and spelling nazi (seriously, I AM talented at finding your annoying errors) so I can really help with articles that have the proofread tag. I hope I make a good contribution to this wiki.

Right, enough with the dramatic pledges and what-not. Thanks for all the n00b information, Lyrithya. (prays that s/he's not a bot)

*beams* Oh, I ain't a bot. Don't even have a script to do the welcoming for me... although from what I hear, that all broke last week when Wikia changed something, anyway. Er... anyhoo...

Some of us are friendly, though... some, not so much. I like to ignore the really unfriendly ones, myself, but the community as a whole can be a right lovely thing. Some... eh, hang around. You'll probably get to know a few. And proofreading is something that is definitely needed around here; I'm sure you've seen some of the atrocities some folks have put out. Plenty of folks would probably not mind if you proofread stuff that didn't have the tag, too, so long as you've the sense to figure out what's intentional or not, and I suspect you do, somehow. Oh, you'll get used to it if you edit enough... hells, I'm getting to the point where I almost wiki-like sign other things by accident. But maybe I'm on here a little too much.

Maybe. You certainly are looking promising, though. Thank you for not being some sort of idiot, unlike most of the new users - dozens of folks create new accounts every day, but only one or two will actually turn out to be worth the space... and that's on a good day.
