From Pee Review[edit source]

This is my first serious attempt at a new article, but I seem to have written myself into a corner. Looking for feedback on what's there so far, as well as any suggestions on how exactly the MacGuffin Corporation is going to get itself out of this mess. I've left it in my Userspace for now, since it still feels like it's not ready for prime time.

  • Suggestion #1: Put a Wikipedia link on the page -- you know, the one with the bouncing Wikiglobe -- linking to Wikipedia's MacGuffin article so that incontinent, illegitimate, illiterate weewees like me get the basic premise.
  • If I were doing it I might attempt to shove the end of the article outside the boundaries of normal dysinformation. Um, what I mean is...All Uncyc articles are fiction, of course, and you are writing about a plot device used in fiction. Exploit the irony there. Perhaps the CEO of MacGuffing Corp explains that his entire company is itself a MacGuffin (as it obviously is) and that he himself is actually a struggling writer slowly starving to death in Echo Park and the Corp is actually a plot device in one of his miserable screenplays...er, except that it is then revealed that the "writer" of this article is a character who is himself a sort of human MacGuffin used to motivate the action in a completely unrelated screenplay written by a character in a 1953 Hitchcock thriller.
Er, this krap is easy to suggest but very difficult to implement. And as it is difficult to write, the risk of failure is very large. But perhaps it gives you an idea. Or perhaps not. ----OEJ 19:34, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
I considered sending the Corp out on some outlandish quest to go find some MacGuffin to restore their company, but I was more than a little afraid that I'd break narrative a bit too hard. However, you're probably right that I have to escalate this a bit farther into the realm of the meta. I'll see what I can cobble together. --Bahustard 20:22, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
