It is probably not a sock puppet, but hopefully an automated or semi-automated account for making repetitive edits that would be extremely tedious to do manually (or so we'd like you to think).

Administrators: if this bot is malfunctioning or causing harm, tough fucking shit.

A stupcarp

Stupcarp is an in-progress MediaWiki bot, written in C and compiled with MSVC++6. The framework it runs on is still in the process of being written, so further updates will be posted here.

NOTE: At the moment, there is no emergency block function as the bot is currently unable to make edits (Postdata's yet to be implemented).

OK, I'm swamped with Japanese work at the moment... when I get that out of the way, I'll get to programming the postdata generator.

Rather than pacing about with extracting rubbish from the HTML files given to the edit section, I will just use the index.php?title=whatever&action=raw function to get the source for edit reverting. It will still need to use postdata, although I think I have it figured out now.

I'm at school at the moment, so later I'll create the stupcarp bot account and have its userpage redirect here. Also on the agenda is to implement logging in.

Account's now created, and User:Stupcarp now redirects here.

Logging in now implemented. Woupii.

Basic page retrieval is done. API functions and cookies are to be implemented. POST requests are a long way off.
