Realising the sweetness of the deal, you agree and thank the manager, who leads the guards out of the room and toward the elevator. You sit in a nearby armchair, which promptly collapses into cinders. You rearrange yourself comfortably in the ashes, relax, and wait.
...and wait...
...and wait...
...and wait...
...and wait.
Glancing at the clock eventually, you realise that, while you've been happily drawing funny faces in the ashes, a good hour and a half has passed and the manager hasn't come back. In fact, now that you think about it, you haven't heard a single noise in the hotel since he left; it's silent as a mute man with a bullet in his skull. It's scary.
