Hello and welcome to the 23rd Back garden olympiad and might I say we have a roaring crowd for such a momentus occasion. There are 5 contenders from 52 different countries all waiting for Dad to get home from work and open the James's house back garden arena where the athletics events are being held today there are 5 events and athletes will score 5 points for winning 3 points for second 1 for third and nothing for fouth and fifth. The event organizer or Mum as known locally is informing me that Dad is arriving now.
Opening Ceremony[edit | edit source]
Well it was a tough journey and at some points we did not think that the 4-seater Toyota Yaris would be able to make it, it seemed to be running out of gas but it kept rolling on and it has arrived. Dad has the olympic back door key in has hand and the games officially start when he turns the key. And the crowd goes wild as the athletes miander out of the conservatory here is the first athlete James, who has the honour of representing the host country this time around. Following him is John, a tall lad favoured in the Paper Toss event. After him are the three remaining contenders Jim, Tim and Will. This concludes the opening ceremony and we will get straight to the action
Event One: The 5.5 Yard Sprint.[edit | edit source]
Tim of course in the yellow jersey in lane 1, then James in the blue outside him in lane 2 and then is Will in bright pink residing in lane 3. Outside of him there is Jim in lane four and John in 5.
On Your Marks. Get Set. Go.
And they're aw...-and they have finished. Tim Ran a strong race but Will took it in the end by and inch, Tim really didn't have the stamina to beat Will, James came in a close last place, just afer Jim and then John.

Event Two: Big Outdoor Jenga.[edit | edit source]
This Game will work in an elimination fashion. The person who knocks the tower over will be elimnated and the Set's owner's mum's decision is final.
Several clean pulls now and the tower is begining to topple.
Will makes a risky move and the tower wobbles! Does it? OH! The tower stays standing tall and will looks impressed with himself! Jim steps up to the challenge and chooses his target. he reaches out... he has his hand on the block he's pulling... slowly does it is what he's thinking, I assure you! The tower is shaking violently now and I'm not sure if it will survive! The tower is falling! But it's falling right on Will!
There's no sign of movement under the rubble... Is will going to come out? Hold on... some blocks are falling from the top of the pile, an arm emerges! Will has woken up and is slowly, but surely, making his way out the rubble. His face is coming out now! His head is fully out and his shoulders are being squeezed through the small gap! Push, Will! PUSH!
Will is out of the rubble and seems OK... but he's bleeding. His nose might be broken... next door neighbour Fred the doctor rushes onto the scene! He's inspecting Will... I'll share the results of that with you later! But Will will be unable to partake in the Big Outdoor Jenga as he has toppled the tower. This competition is getting more and more exciting by the minute!
This is an intense game Jim is examining the tower he must know it is as stable as me after a pint. He takes a pull and... Oh he has been eliminated. The tower falls slowly to the right crippling next door's dog and fred rushes home with will only half treated this cannot be good news for him. It is only Tim and John now with Tim to pull. the tower is now as stable as me after two pints and i'm sure you will agree that is not very good. Tim pulls a block and... and ... AND IT'S GOOD!!! John is left in a real pickle here. But what is this he goes for the block in the middle bottom and takes an easy pull.
Tim has no option but to gamble and it doesn't pull off the tower crushes the after-event refreshments and the lady running it, there is no hope for them.

Jim may be lacking it in the first two events but it is still all to play for.
Event 3: Cone Discus.[edit | edit source]
The cone discus, cones have been used for many things, hats, marking pitches err... hats. But now you are looking at cone discus the top rated sport in cone sports quarterly. Points are scored for accuracy and the target is 35cm in diameter. Every Competitor has 7 cones and the best three will have their distances added up the lowest score wins.
