Hoser is a frequently-used derogotory term used by drunk Canadians, usually applied to anyone from the United States of America, or the fans of the opposing hockey team. It is the fourth most common word in the Canadian vocabulary, behind only "Eh?", "Saskatchewan", and "undercarriage", as in the phrase "Check out that Saskatchewan hoser's undercarriage, eh? She reminds me of your sister!!"
Etymology[edit | edit source]
The word hoser is derived from the two Canadian words "ho-" and the French-Canadian "-ser". The Ho portion retains much of it's original street usage, as
The French-Canadian part of the word, ser, is basically the Anglicized version of monsieur, or sir, interpreted to ser. Lazy French bastards.
