The emblem of the Australian Kangaroo Kourt, a replica of the emblem of the High Court of Australia, with some minor differences

The Kangaroo Court of Australia (Australian: Roo Court, Pronounced: [Ruː kʊ-ərt ɒf æ-ʌs-tralia, typically stylized as Kangaroo Kourt as per Jeffrey v. Perth) is the top circuit court of Australia, deferring only to the Supreme Court and the Kangaroo Kourt of Appeals. The Kourt has the power of judicial review over any and every law in Australia, and is the only authority in the Commonwealth of Australia that has the power to completely re-write/tear up the constitution of Australia. [1] Most cases presided over by the Kangaroo Kourt are resolved very quickly, with principles of justice notoriously playing second fiddle to powerful marsupial kicks to the face. ]

History[edit | edit source]

The formation of the Kangaroo Court of Australia traces back to a few short months after the formation of the high court of Australia in 1903. The kangaroo population of Australia, feeling greatly under-appreciated by the human population, decided to hold a referendum with the Australian government. In order to quell the kangaroos and prevent and unwinable war for the Australians, the government convinced the High Court to give the kangaroos a job in the cafeteria. The kangaroos were dis-contended with this decision and after a few choice words and strategic punches in the groin areas of the high court justices, the kangaroos were promoted to justices themselves.

In 1906, the landmark case McCormick vs. The High Court of Australia shook the nation. In the trial, a Mr. Lance McCormick claimed that a kangaroo justice had followed Mr. McCormick outside the courthouse after being freed on bail and gave McCormick a gentle reminder that the law would eventually catch him. The Kangaroo then kicked McCormick with his powerful hind legs. Mr. McCormick fell down the courthouse stairs, the equivalent of falling down 40 flights of stairs and McCormick wanted the kangaroo justice to pay for his medical expenses. However, the case was settled after Mr. McCormick's lawyers all resigned after receiving powerful punches by the kangaroo justices every-time they tried to present their case. The finally ruling was decided on June 20, 1906 and justice H. B. Higgins delivered the judgement which became famous in Australian history; the "Kangaroo Judgement."

It is from great thought and judicial foresight that this court decides that the actions of the kangaroo
justices are never to be questioned nor overruled. They are superior beings, both mentally and physically,
and as a result, this court finds no other solution than to disagree with the accusations by Mr. McCormick.
