The term edible is derived from the Greek term edios, which means "Stop being a pussy and eat it, damnit". Edible is often used to describe a foodstuff which is pretty tasty, or vaguely easy to stomach. Many people believe that edible has something to do with Food, which it does not. In fact, there are many common uses of the word edible in modern culture not pertaining to foods, such as "Your girlfriend is edible" meaning "She is slightly attractive, and I would like to take her on a maximum of two dates." On the Internet, one's 1337 H4X may be described as edible.
