Scientology is a popular genre-crossing video game developed for the Super Nintendo, and subsequently ported to various consoles under the same name. Unlike most other video games that can be considered a monetary success, Scientology was developed by groundbreaking asylum escapee L. Ron Hubbard, based on the ideas of his childhood hero Rod Serling. The game, whose rating was recently changed from "M" for Mature to "T" for Teen by the ESRB, is especially popular among the famously pompous celebrity sect, one member of which claims that "when I'm one with Scientology, Scientology is one with me." Such stupidity-laced pseudo-proverbs have led various parenting groups to pursue legal action against the publisher of the game, Iowa-based Dianetics Games, for "poisoning the minds of America's youth."
