So, you want a fancy signature when you type in talkpages. Welcome to the club.
Unfortunately, fancy sigs require a lot of wikicode, which is large and ugly, makes the diff pages and source code difficult to read, and annoys users.
How do you bypass this?
Set your preference for your signature to something like {{nosubst|User:<YOUR USERNAME HERE>/sig.css|[[User:<YOUR USERNAME HERE>]]}}.
Yes, that last link pointing to your userpage is important, or {{ping}} won't work, even if you link to your userpage inside of the signature template.
