"Cee-Lo, I am so glad that you made a hit song about Uncyclopedia!": Jonathan Huang (the founder of Uncyclopedia) on Cee-Lo's hit song.This earned the group a record contract with Downtown Clown records in late 2005.
Critical reception[edit | edit source]
So, Cee-Lo earned a Grammy for his amazing song, but it never went on UnTunes, surprisingly. It is number 100,000 on Rolling Stone's Magazine The 500,000 Greatest Songs Of All Time. Critics called it "hilarious",and "A perfect example of what a comedy song is all about."
Actual band history[edit | edit source]
Gnarls Barkley was formed at Stanford University in September 2005 by Cee-Lo Green and Deadmau5. The band is best known for their number one hit "CRAZEE ABOUT UNCYCLOPEDIA." The group also released an album called Not That Shitty 80's TV Show St. Elsewhere known for its high use of comedy and 70's and 80's pop culture references. Their last album, released in 2008 was very boring with just one good song with no UnTune sales. The duo then broke up and went on to solo careers. Cee-Lo would release his 2009 single "Fuck You if You Don't Like Uncyclopedia", and Deadmau5 made shitty Dubstep music while on crack.
