Atlas is a continent appearing as Pangaea on the planet tentatively called: "K4P15Z-07", where it has a large part of the planet's surface. The continent is bordered by the planet's only two oceans, the Northern Ocean and the Southern Ocean. It is bordered by the Moon Sea to the west, the Korek Sea to the north, the Kings (Royal) Sea to the east, and the Sea of Frost to the northeast.

The Atlas covers an area of about 113,919 million km2. It is the only continent on the entire planet. Politically, Atlas is divided into more than forty independent states, of which Uglar is the largest, and Korkoland is the most populous. In total, the entire continent has about 3,292,011 billion people. The climate varies greatly from one part of the continent to another.

Atlas culture is very diverse, which can be easily seen in different parts of the continent. Civilization, in some places, developed really fast. In others, however, it is a bit slower, which can definitely be felt in modern countries. It is also worth emphasizing that a large part of the modern Atlas civilizations is not only a continuation of the old ones, but also the continuous formation of new ones. Unfortunately, many indigenous groups are no longer active today and only history remains.

In the history of Atlas, numerous empires were created, striving to unify the entire continent and make it look like them. The greatest territorial gains were achieved by such historical powers as the Uglarian Empire, the Kingdom of Tronos, the Korkoland Empire, the Erivian Caliphate, the Weplen Empire and many others. Atlas has always been divided, but the last years of many wars seem to be slowly uniting the continent, striving for peace on it. Over the years, organizations such as the United Nations of the Continent, the Neon Union, the Great Nine, and the Southern Alliance were formed. By far the largest and bloodiest war in the history of the continent is the Great War, which took place at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries AD. This war divided the countries of the continent the most, but its end gave hope for new, more peaceful years.

Name[edit | edit source]

The name Atlas is actually relatively new, considering the age of all other previous names for the continent. The Atlas is actually a unification of all of them, which has been decided by a large part of the nations on the continent. Already in the times of the first civilizations on the continent, the subject of the name was the cause of many disputes. Each nation had its own unique language, and the founders of the first kingdoms avoided using the names of their enemies' languages.

To this day, languages on Atlas are very diverse and each comes from a different language family. The name Atlas is found in most of today's countries, and this name of the continent is rather commonly accepted as the correct and most popular one. Despite this, many regions have other names that are culturally related to the place. Arabic-speaking countries such as Damarut, Eryvia and Eryvian Philaea use the name Arabylon because of their religion and culture.

The name Atlas occurs in most countries on the continent, however, the linguistic division between different countries and separate provinces should still be taken into account. For example, in Arealandic or Plaggiritic, the name of the continent is Atlas, however, both of these countries are distinguished by special regions (Karpland and Pollinia) with Tronosian and Fairylandish minorities, which changes the name of the continent.

Certainly noteworthy variations of the name, however, despite all the preservation of it to some extent, are the examples of Vaszkiria and Great Lechia, where the languages in both these countries come from a family comparable to European Slavs. The name Atlas is changed here as Atlazija, which may not stand out in any particular way compared to other specific varieties, but the difference is still noticeable.

Tronos-speaking countries (plus Karpland) have been using their own name since the beginning of history known to us. The name Thule is considered one of the first recognized names for the continent. The language of Tronos can be perceived as a Scandinavian language, hence there is certainly a significant difference between the pronunciation of the name of the continent.
