I'm writing this just because I can.

A few things to remember:

This is mostly speculation. We'll start to know in a few months if I'm right.
I don't care who lives and who dies in this war. If people who have been living with each other for many generations want to kill each other in the name of the same god, why should I care?
Names of Bangladeshi Muslims are extremely inconsistent, with little to no regard for family names or any other naming convention. This is because when they name their children, the names are in Arabic (they can't speak Arabic) and the names are based on pleasing Allah with the most high-minded, pious-sounding "Muslim name." You'll see this when I start naming people.
A significantly large number of Bangladeshi men have "Muhammad" somewhere in their long "good name," usually at the beginning. If they don't, they often address themselves as "Muhammad ___________" as a title (to show off the fact that they're Muslim).
People often have a nickname, which may or may not be added at the end of their name (or within some other part of their "good name").

Political parties:

Awami League () - The ruling political party in Bangladesh. Was the main pro-independence group during the Liberation War. Moderate Islam. Minority rights. Secular democracy. Pro-western and pro-big business. Extremely corrupt. Cares more about worshiping their Liberation War heroes than about doing anything good for the country.

Bangladesh Nationalist Party () - Leading opposition party. Usually sides with Islamists. Pro-big government and centralized control. Moderately corrupt.

Jatiyo Party (জাতীয় পার্টি) - Formed by a former military dictator (Ershad) to control parliament. Usually sides with Islamists. Extremely corrupt, with members consisting entirely of Ershad's relatives, friends and business associates.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami () - Radical Islamist party. Strong supporter of Pakistan. Anti-west. Suppresses everyone who doesn't follow their interpretation of Islam. Fought with Pakistan during the Liberation War. While they're not that corrupt, the party leaders are completely immune from any kind of prosecution or criticism, because they preach the word of Allah. Was allegedly behind mass genocide of Hindus during the Liberation War.

Hifazat-e-Islam Bangladesh (হেফাজতে ইসলাম বাংলাদেশ) - Radical Islamist activism. Members are mostly lonely single adolescent boys who have no job and no future. Originated in madrassahs in Chittagong in response to new laws granting equal rights to women. Publicly advocates killing all non-Muslims. They have killed many secularists and anti-Islamists, and will continue to do so. The madrassahs get a lot of funding from Islamist donors in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Completely against people having cell phones or internet access.
