What's going on?[edit | edit source]
- Bee Colony Collapse Syndrome, also known as BCCS is a syndrome in the bee community, and is threatening the entire worlds food supply, even more than the Global Warning. Scientists have been scrambling to determine the cause of BCCS, and have narrowed it down to a combination of things. One of the main things is a virus. The virus is called the Israeli acute paralysis virus!
- Others speculate that the American honey bee, has developed a drinking problem and has flown off to Las Vegas, where they've been seen behaving badly in hotel bars and on downtown sidewalks.
Why are they falling?[edit | edit source]
- Others cite an increase in bee obesity. Stemming one presumes, from a more 'modern' (sedentary) lifestyle and the availability of cheap junk food on the corner of every neighbourhood. There have been reports of bees being unable to push their fat heads, far enough into flower tubes to get to the high-fructose corn syrup at the bottom!
Mother Nature is Cruel?[edit | edit source]
- On a personal note, I have myself witnessed Evil Wasps, wrestling with fuzzy little bees and shockingly decapitating them! Leaving their headless abdomens wandering blindly about. Nature is indeed cruel.
- Sadly I think we have all seen bees, wandering drunkenly across patios and paths. Why just this afternoon, I saw one teeter over to the fallen sky blue flower of a salvia, and ram her head into it, desperately seeking a last taste of love & life...
