Uncyclopedia:Open proxies
Open proxies are bad. Very bad. Extremely bad. Horrible! They can be frequently used for abuse, especially both on Uncyclopedia and on Wikipedia. There is only one good reason why they should be used, to, say, overcome censorship, but they are abused far to much. Just trust me.
What the fuck even is an open proxy?[edit source]
It is a proxy(duh)operated by anyone on the web. Normally it only exists within a certain group, as in a closed proxy. But sometimes they can be left open. As an example, one of the largest open proxies, used by Jeff Bezos's slaves, is 65.0.0.0/14. When being blocked on Wikipedia, due to the large size, it required 4 seperate blocks, as blocks are limited up to a /16. And this was on April 30, 2020 at around 2:50 AM, UTC. Most VPNs, including NordVPN, is also an open proxy.
Also, anonymous proxies are also a huge issue. It's basically the same as an open proxy, but even worse. This is because they make you completely untraceable.
Reasons to use open or anonomyzing proxies[edit source]
There are a few reasons to use them. If you want to earn a free 3 year block at Wikipedia or 5 year block at Uncyclopedia, go right ahead! We won't stop you, we will just keep blocking those IPs left and right. If you, however, have practical purposes and aren't a malicious spambot, there are a few things. China censors a lot of the internet, so maybe use an open proxy? You'll see things more easily. If you want to edit Wikipedia though, you will need to request IP block exemption, because while we at Uncyclopedia have kind hearts and will just softblock them, Wikipedia insists on hardblocking them like the jerks they are. Also, if you want to be more secure on the internet and evade sockpuppetry blocks hide your IP address, which can reveal your geolocation. That's Wikipedia-like terms of where you live, which can be off by a couple dozen miles, or be spot on. It will make it harder for you to get robbed, online.
Ok, so maybe use them? No. There are many reasons below why not to.
Reasons to not use open proxies[edit source]
Oh, there are many. Malware can occur, it does not make you totally anonomoys, you can be in a zombie situation. You are also blocked on many wikis. Tor users are especially fucked on Wikipedia, if you want a chance of using a proxy, don't use tor. They are automatically blocked. Wikipedians constantly scout out for open proxies, and now Uncyclopedians do as well, just waiting until they show their ugly face to be blocked. If you unintentionally run one, welp, you're fucked.
Zscaler is something you cannot turn off. Wikipedians do have a heart, following this discussion, and will softblock them. Certainly they are abused, but you can't turn it off, unlike, say, NordVPN! Such disgusting proxies include 165.225.192.0/18. But do not even think about abusing it on Wikipedia, and then creating an account, or else your anus will be CU blocked.
2607:fb90::/32[edit source]
That consists of IPv6 T-Mobile addresses. It is kind of an open proxy, as it changes rapidly within that /32, which is kind of a fuckton in IPv6 coding. T-Mobile IPv4 addresses are fine, but not IPv6. They are used very abusively. On Wikipedia, autoblock is always disabled and anon only mode is always on, to prevent any colateral.
What do I do if I have an open proxy and need to edit?[edit source]
Ok, first of all, this isn't your step-by-step guide, but second of all, you need to turn off your fuckin open proxy. If you really need it, you can just pester our admins by pinging them on your talk page, or going to Discord or IRC and pestering our admins. In a few proxies, we have been generous and softblocked them, however, some idiots abused that privilege on March 2, so we hardened up and removed that. Those blocks were also extended.
If we catch you edited through open proxies, you will be banned permanently from the site, and we completely disavow this, except if you are from China and intend to mock Xi Jingping. In which case, go right ahead.

First of all, say fuck you to Tor, as they invented and <ugh> patented open proxies. IPSharkk.com may also be an open proxy, seeing this may explain why. You also have NordVPN(which OverSimplified is stupid and broadcasts),and many smaller webhosts. Too many to count.
