==The Bugaloos was a television show created by Sid and Marty Krofft in Hollywood from 1970-1971. The creators swear they were not on drugs when they dreamt this one up. It was about a group of British teenagers who grew bored with city life and sprouted wings and flew to a place named Tranquility Forest, which was terrorised by a woman named Benita Bizaare (Martha Ray), who lived in a juke-box. Even though they had wings, the Bugaloos seemed to spend a lot of time travelling round in a buggy. The Bugaloos also sang a lot, thereby showing a new talent for insects. The character of Joy (Caroline Ellis) supplied a lot of sex appeal. They were originally going to appear in a film produced by Columbia Pictures, but Columbia had just gone bankrupt after their H.R.Pufnstuf (also Kroft Brothers) film had appeared, although there might be no connexion with the timing of that film's appearance and the bankruptcy. Misunderstanding between the Krofft Brothers and the cast resulted in the cast returning to Britain, and, thus, alas, the original run of the show ended after only 17 episodes in January 1971. This great masterpiece continues to haunt the dreams of us old baby-boomers who watched it back in the dinosaur era.
