Hetaoni is a spinoff of a Japanese horror game called Ao Oni and is possibly just as bad. You play in the perspective of Japan for a majority of the game. The plot line is that the nations decided to visit a haunted mansion, got trapped, and was chased around by a giant monster labeled The Thing. The catch is, Italy has been traveling back in time every time someone would die in a desperate attempt to save all of them.
First Loop |
The first to die was Japan in the Piano Room because Italy had run out of white flags to use as Band-Aids. Instead of telling the others about his best friend's death, Italy continued on as if nothing happened, and soon enough China, Russia, and France were fatally wounded. The creator added the cliché of people saying their last words before death, when in reality they should just be dead. France told Prussia to take care of Italy, as if he actually cared for the Italian and hadn't murdered his childhood love. China remembers his little brother, Japan, for the first time since he died, not having been concerned before. Russia dies alone. (Eventually everyone else just dies). Italy is the last one left alive, so he grabs a random book and starts reading, but then the Thing appears and chases him out of the mansion. And instead of leaving the grounds like a normal, sane person, he turns and taunts the Thing, the last thing you should do when you're staring down a monster that killed all your friends. Then he makes the mistake of telling the monster to turn back time and is stuck in an endless game of trying to save his friends, which was impossible from the beginning. |
