The Walten Files The Walten Files is an analogue horror and a FNAF ripoff (not even a ripoff, that would be an insult to ripoffs, its straight up the same story only with the timelines switched) with a story about a guy who hunts five people down, they possess the soul of the animatronics, and the company is an incompetently run poorly managed corporation that covers up the incidents. I can't think of anything that would sound similar. It is set in the 1970s and 1980s (the story is spinning its wheels, the creator is deathly allergic to going beyond October 1982 for some reason) and, in an original with FNAF ripoffs, tells its story like the creator googled 'how to tell cryptic story' on WikiHow and reread the first Gene Wolfe short story.

all they need is a mysterious fifth character that can be spawned by looking at a poster and the ripoff will be complete. maybe a phone guy-type character and some incident with a bite involved would help.

The inciting incident is a car accident, but it still involves dead children so it doesn't win points. The only major difference is the 'protag' is the daughter of the co-founder (because for some reason William Aft-I mean Felix Kranken decided to murder his co-owner to allevitate suspicion) instead the son of the serial killer.

Can shadow man be spawned this way?

The videos take long as fuck to release (It is a curse of all Martins to have one project consume all of their free time like GRRM with Winds of Winter) and hasn't seen a video in...3 years? We will be unusually charitable and go with two years. The creator, instead of finishing his story, has taken to posting irrelevant shit that doesn't recontextualize known events or hint at new ones, and mostly exists to establish the post-82 setting without establishing it.

Plot[edit | edit source]

Imagine the plot of FNAF (the first four games, not the meth-inhaling confused ones post-2019) except instead of cryptic video games and autistically repeating "It's me" its cryptic analog horror and "I'm sorry." ANd it also takes place in the 1980s and 1970s, not 1980s and 1990s. Basically the owner goes missing, animatronics now haunted, and they close down after failing to convince people to come back. It's delivered through a guy named Andy who states that the tapes are super conveniently super duper rare and most of them were banned and the rest have been damaged. It is super convenient this Andy manages to find all the tapes and somehow upload them despite this being VHSs and YouTube not being a thing for another 23 years.

Characters[edit | edit source]

If you want to imagine the characters, just imagine the core characters of FNAF copy and pasted with minimal alteration and a bunch of others that solely exist to establish how dAnGeRoUs Bon(nie) is.

  • Bonnie: Bon himself is a mix of Springtrap, nightmare, original, toy and withered Bonnie, and is basically Freddy Fazbear with a rabbit instead of a bear.
  • Felix Kranken: It would be much cooler if he was named Kraken. That would have redeemed him.
  • Shawn the Sheep: Obligatory female animatronic. Why? Just why?
  • Shadow Man:Obligatory mysterious character, like The Fifth Animatronic. Solely exists to generate clickbait MatPat videos and to provide and endless dump for speculating. Otherwise feel free to disregard. May or may not be able to be summoned via poster.
  • The Waltens:Basically the Aftons if they were the victims instead of a crazed lunatic father with psychopathic and downright mad children.
  • Bunny Smiles Incorporated:Obligatory evil corporation. Only exists because it has to fulfill the checklist.
  • Sophie Walten: or whatever the fuck her name is. I don't know. Is a open lesbian despite existing in Minnesota, which in the eighties was known for crazy Baptists flailing their arms around the next year being the year of the Return.

There are a bunch other ones like Brandon, a guy who appears in the first episode as a caretaker for the Overlook Hotel Bon's Burgers K9 Storage Care Facility Thingamabob and solely exists as a casualty for the reawakened Bon. Doesn't reappear until the video game (or rather, video of a person playing an abandoned video game). There is also Felix's Wife, who solely appears as a plot device for Felix's perpetual drunkenness and the reason why this shit happens. That's right, its another one of those stories that depends on one single event going wrong and starting all of this. But all of these characters solely exist to intervene in the story at crucial points without doing anything else.

Reception[edit | edit source]

Because of its original story, thrilling plotline, and ability to maintain a consistent schedule, it has garnered a rather divided fandom. Some people think its an original story with unique characters and no cliche.

Great Idiot Wars of 1959[edit | edit source]

The Great Idiot Wars of 1959 were a series of wars fought in America, Vietnam, Korea, Australia, and Lord knows what else were from 1555 to 1960. It was triggered when American politicians, funded by Israelis, decided to time travel back in time and initiate Henry VIII's divorces and start the longest war in history. Israelis, proving to be the children of Satan,
