Grand Theft Auto: Bikini Bottom is one of the latest and most controversial game in Rokstar Gamez's highly sucessful series Grand Theft Auto which are designed to raise crime rates and increase police funding. In the game you play as Patrick Star, a faithful hitman of hardcore gangster and mafiosa prince Spongebob "SB" Squarepants. In the game you crush rival gangs and kill innocent citizens, stealing all their money and firearms on the way; the more stuff you give him, the better weapons you'll get from SpongeBob.
Gameplay[edit | edit source]
The game, like most other GTAS, consists of underwater free roam and violence. The environment is fully destructible and if you shoot fish, you will see realistic blood and gore. GTA: BB runs on a highly sophisticated 3D engine and is fully capable to give you multiple BSODs. The graphics engine is powered by asparagus, legumes, a nuclear fission reactor and the soulpower of 10,000 orphans, thus giving sharp, clear graphics.
Story[edit | edit source]
The beginning of the game starts with an intro of Squidward riding a paddle-bicycle. One of Spongebob "SB" Squarepants' hitman, Bubble Bass, drives a hevily tuned blue underwater Corvette ZR1 past Squidward while Patrick, who is sitting in the rear opens the window shoots at the latter with an M60. The reason is explained in Grand Theft Auto: Bikini Bottom Stories.
After Squidward is shot in the head several times and (supposedly) dies, Bubbble Bass drives the Corvette out of the crime scene. But then, he drives over a stingray and it pops the tyres of the ZR1 with its barb. The car then spins into a wild Manji drift and crashes into a low wall, crumpling the front of the car like cardboard and throwing Bubble Bass out of the windscreen.
Once Squidward is dead(Supposedly), you drive the crippled ZR1 to the brothel Krusty Krabs, where there are now three missions available. One is for Sandy', the karate master', Gary the crime lord, and Squidward's brother Squilliam Tentacles (who is unaware of his brother's murder. All of which, before the end of the game will die a gruesome death.
Sandy's mission is a tutorial on how to fist fight(Which you will never use), Gary's is on how to use guns(Which you will always use, and Squilliam's mission is on how to drive. After all of these, several missions become available. In the next mission you work for Larry the Lobster and you must help him attack a rival gang, along with two of his "homies". The rival gang is called the Nematodes.
The one after that, you drive Gary over to Sandy's house(After this, it will be several missions before you work for Gary).Then you have a mission from Pearl, where you must kill a rival ho and blow up the Krusty Krabs.
For several missions, you help Larry to kill rival gang members, you work for Gary . When you arrive, you find that Sandy has been killed by Gary.Here the hard part of the game starts.In this section of the game, you must kill all of your bosses. The first being Larry the lobster.Then Pearl, and Finally, you will have to kill Squilliam, before he arrives back at his house. His gang, the Tentacles, will confront you and if you kill all of them, you get a bonus weapon, the hen-grenade, but actually it is very hard to get to Squilliam alive.
After this you work for Spongebob and Plankton. Plankton's missions consist of getting his hypnotism buckets to the citizens of Bikini Bottom. The final mission will be to kill Plankton. You have to drive Plankton to Gary's new hangout(The Shady Shoals Retirement Home) and Gary will help you to kill him. There, Bikini Bottom's retired superheros will try to stop you and you machine-gun. However, Plankton then activates a time bomb, and it counts down from 3:00 minutes. You must then escape the crumbling building. The place then explodes, killing both Gary and Plankton and starts the REAL final mission.
PS Squidward doesn't actually die, for that would ruin [Cartoon City]'s plot.)
The REAL final mission[edit | edit source]
The real final mission consists of the last boss battle in the game. The credits roll but then Mr Krab's three nephews ambush you. Then you have to use your hen-grenades to kill them all. Once the nephews have been killed, Plankton's spirit appears and tells you to go to Barnacle City, were no one will find you. (Everyone's out to get you for serial murder). Patrick then has to drive to the airport, but what awaits him there is Squilliam, who wants to kill you for killing his brother and most of his gang. You have to kill him and hijack an airliner to fly to Barnacle city. The credits roll as the jet takes off into the sunset.
Vehicles[edit | edit source]
There are a lot of vehicles in the game, including some masterpieces like the Lambchopghini Gallardo, but most of them are modified for underwater use with paddles instead of wheels and rudders instead of spoilers. You can fine-tune the handling of your vehicle and catch big air (and Patrick's death) in Bikini Bottom Borough's many ramps. You can also store your vehicles in your safehouse, where they will quickly oxidize because of the high salt content in the sea.
The vehicles are namely:
