jerry-rig (past tense jerry-rigged)

Macgyver, not necessary the originator of jerry-rigging, but he was indeed the one who took jerry-rigging to previous unseen heights. He was the first man to construct a nuclear warhead out of a paperclip, toiletpaper roll, duct tape, and burnt human hair.

1. To poorly construct an object, process, or other mechanism in a hasty manner with improper tools or parts. Originates from the Civil Rights act of 1964 as a legal replacement for the term nigger-rig. Racism against Germans was not banned by the Civil Rights Act of 1964, hence, jerry-rig was a suitable replacement.
