Athenians, The

1. An exclusive and little-known society at the University of Cambridge. Members communicate via multilingual messages in sealed envelopes, marked with the society's distinctive icon. Commonly - and mistakenly - seen by Cantabrigian students as an all-female response to The Adonians (see above), this society in fact consists only partly of 'boaties', and the organisation of any event on the same night as an Adonians event is purely coincidental.
