Borrowing of French amuse-chatte (1990 spelling reform amusechatte) < amuser ("amuse, stimulate, titillate, excite") + chatte ("female cat; thing that is thought to resemble a cat and pertain to females in some vague way")
Noun[edit | edit source]
amuse-chatte (plural amuse-chattes)
- A small object that happens to amuse a cat.
- Ditto, but with a human female as beneficiary.
