adamant (plural adamants)

1. (theology) Name of the very first ant in history.
2. A variety of metal that is so strong, resilient and unyielding that it is completely impossible to craft or mould it into any functional shape. Thus, the only material that is both indestructible and completely useless for constructing armour. See also: Irony.
3. Lead singer of an 1980's band who made ant music, presumably by hitting them with very small ballpeen hammers.
