Notice

The Administrative Autonomy policy was created in February 2019, by forum vote, shortly after User:Aimsplode was crowned as administrator. During the following months, after Aimsplode was promoted (yet again) to bureaucrat, he became an abusive power-mod, using prominent Nazi references and slurs on Discord (the main community hub of the time), deleting his own messages, as well as others' messages for no reason. This went contrary to Uncyclopedia's primary policy, "Don't be a dick".

Later, in October 2019, Aimsplode was nominated to be de-opped on Uncyclopedia. While looking for evidence to support removing Aimsplode's bureaucrat and administrator statuses, some administrators have stumbled upon evidence that Aimsplode was previously banned from Uncyclopedia (in 2013) for attempting to lure underage users to his home. When this was discovered, Aimsplode was permanently banned from Uncyclopedia and all of its affiliates.

This policy is no longer applied on Uncyclopedia.

Summary

Nutshell.svg This page in a nutshell: No administrator may unilaterally overturn another administrator's decision.
Only one admin can kick this user's ass at a time.

Uncyclopedia's Administrative Autonomy policy protects the legal authority of individual administrators to use their respective administrative privileges, also known as sysop rights. Uncyclopedia administrators enjoy broad leeway in terms of interpreting and enforcing site policies, including deleting articles and blocking other users. No single administrator may unilaterally overturn any action or decision by another administrator. In general, only a group consensus from the rest of the administration may reverse an individual administrator's decision.

Rules

  1. Be it a matter of deletion, blocking, or interpretation of existing policy, no single member of the administration or bureaucracy may overturn any action or decision by another administrator. The following exceptions apply:
    • Article protection. If an administrator places a permanent protection of any level or type on an article, administrative autonomy expires six months after the protection's original institution. At that point, any administrator may remove the protection; if disagreement arises between administrators over the protection's removal, they should seek a quorum of available administrators to reach a final decision (see below for details). The original protection will remain in place until a decision is reached.
    • Former administrators. Administrative autonomy does not apply to former administrators. With the exception of blocks, any decision by a former administrator may be overturned by a current administrator at any time. An administrative quorum must convene to determine the possibility of reinstating a user blocked by a former administrator (see below for details).

Procedures for reversing an administrator's decision

  1. In the event an administrator feels that another administrator's decision should be overturned, a good-faith effort should ideally be made to first discuss the issue, in a timely manner, with the administrator whose decision is in question. If doing so does not, or most likely will not, produce resolution, a quorum of available administrators on Discord will convene to determine how to proceed, and will then overturn the decision if a majority agreement is reached. The format and timing of these discussions may not be engineered to skew the vote.
    • For particularly contentious issues, the administration should consider holding an administrator-only vote on an acceptable location, such as the #cabal Discord channel, or the Ministry of Love.
  2. To determine whether to overturn any user's permanent block that has been in place for more than one year, the administration must hold an administrator-only Consensus track vote. This Ministry of Love forum will be a simple majority vote.
    • Any non-permanent block issued by a former administrator may be overturned by a majority agreement of available administrators on Discord.
