You arrive at the button labeled "Kill Charon". It seems to be located inside three separately operated force fields.
Upon closer inspection, there appears to be four additional buttons accompanying the "Kill Charon" one behind the force fields. They are the "Fight Grue Slayer again" button, the "Commit Suicide" button, the "Blow up Maze" button, and the "Drop a Grue on My Ass" button. You'd better remember to press the right button once those force fields are disabled.
That would not be wise with the force fields still in effect. You should input the access codes to disable them on that control panel in the corner.
