NBK - this is a gem! Did you write the original? ~ 14:41, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- No, I'm sorry to admit that someone else (de:Benutzer:Niclass) wrote it, but I agree that it's nice stuff therefore I made this translation within the scope of the Foreign Office project. I will notify the original author of the translation and possible reactions. Thanks. NaturalBornKieler (talk) 14:48, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- I think that a bit of a cleanup and maybe "Englifying" some of the local terms (especially the Dutch expressions) and this is front page material. ~ 14:50, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- Feel free to clean up and englify, however the Dutch expressions should stay somewhat Dutch-ish. For a German, the stuff is simple to understand (if it's Dutch at all, I cannot tell you honestly since I don't really understand Dutch), for example the word lekker (or lecker) means tasty in both languages. A Boderbrotje is a sandwich (bread and butter) I think and Genever is Jenever, a Gin-like stuff. Hope that helps. NaturalBornKieler (talk) 15:08, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- I actually speak Dutch (well, at least Basic Dutch) so I understand most of it - and I thought about references really - rather than changing the remarks. BTW, I'd actually think they'd say - lekker brotjes O_O ~ 15:19, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- Then you are closer to the thing than I am :) NaturalBornKieler (talk) 15:29, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- I'm doing a clean-up at the moment, it is very impressive yeah, please revert any changes I make that are due to my ignorance of Dutch culture/German perceptions of Dutch culture/details of the source material.--El Sid, the lazy one • parlez-vous franglais? 15:35, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

- Oh, and to complete the credits I would like to mention our de:Benutzer:Otello who did the artwork. NaturalBornKieler (talk) 15:44, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
Artwork[edit source]
Hi, just to say I made a new version of the artwork for the french translation of the article. If you find it better, you can use it here too ! :D -- Zalibus 04:19, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
- Looks great! I'll notify Otello about this. Hey, and looks like a nice translation too, too bad that my French is so poor. NaturalBornKieler (talk) 09:24, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot for your kind comment! :D -- Zalibus 18:37, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
