Also known as troll face edits, skull edits are low effort brain rotting garbage unoriginal videos on platforms such as YouTube and TikTok. Skull edits strive to rot the brains of Gen Alphas and Gen Z.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
Skull edits always have a normal video playing and then something random or surprising happens. After that there is a shake effect, a dark overlay and a cringy skull emoji. This is a very random way of expressing how surprising the video is. Skull edits may include text that says “AURA 1,000,000%” and “COOKED 9,999,999%” on a glowing text box. Skull edits also have phonk which is loud noise people call music. The music is synced with the video to enhance the cringy effect of the skull emoji.
Troll face
Some skull edits go out of their way to add “troll faces”. Troll faces are a stupid smiling white colored face that has a goofy ah distorted smile.
Visual effects[edit | edit source]
Skull edits always have a weird color correction and a VHS effect to make the quality worse for some reason. There are also many effects added to the video to give the view a seizure like a flicker effect for no reason. Skull edits also have a shake effect where the screen moves very violently, and intensely flashes for no reason at all. Skull edits also include glowing text that says something like, “mOmeNTs BeFoRE diSAsTer!” or, “wAIT foR it!”

The standard skull in skull edits is the apple skull emoji but sometimes people use more cringy skulls. For example there are skulls that look like they are dying on the inside and some are just plain goofy.
