Since the 2000s, SBT has had low ratings, occasionally tying with smaller channels. But SBT remains strong and resilient.

Controversies[edit | edit source]

WWE exhibition[edit | edit source]

Silvio Santos, already weakened, decided to steal viewers from other channels and broadcast WWE fights on SBT. But some children with intellectual disabilities began to apply the moves they saw in the WWE fights at school, causing Silvio to stop showing the fights on SBT.

South Park exhibition[edit | edit source]

In 2004, Silvio Santos, in yet another of his inventions, decided to air South Park at 10 PM, but since the rating stipulated that the program could only be shown after 11 PM, the Brazilian Ministry of Justice fined SBT 50,000 reais.
