Normal people are so rare, that no one could be caught on camera. The illustration shows a pacman figure for lack of anything better.

The Normal People Disorder is a very rare psychiatric disorder that makes people think that they are normal human beings.

One of the main characteristics of humanity is the fact, that every individual is unique, and that every human being has something special, skills that are extraordinary, behaviors and appearances that are exceptional, fantasies that are whimsical, etcetera.

Most people who suffer from the Normal People Disorder are locked away in clinics. The fact that they always protest against being locked away, emphasizing that they are quite normal, actually proves that they suffer from this disorder.

A central question in the treatment of the Normal People Disorder is: "Why do some people actually think they are normal?" Could a superiority complex, an inferiority complex or a different complex altogether be the cause of this? Convincing people who suffer from this disorder that they are not quite normal is very difficult. Studies have shown, that it is easier to convince the average cat or dog that it is a duck than to make someone change his or her mind about being normal.

Sock Therapy[edit | edit source]

One very modern way of treating the Normal People Disorder is the application of Sock Therapy. Making patients wear weird socks can really drive them crazy and when the voltage of the electricity that is used for the lights of the room is varied, these socks can look even weirder, which adds an element of confusion to their experience.

In recent years, lamp rights activists have protested against Sock Therapy. They hold it is unethical to apply high voltages to lights of rooms as the lamps of the rooms could be damaged by this. More lamp-friendly therapies have been proposed, like therapies that are based on hypnosis or brainwashing.
