Lute
A lute is a musical instrument which is basically a guitar with a wooden salad bowl stuck on the back. It is known to be extremely quiet, making it extremely easy to sneak up on enemies difficult to project sound. Lutenists must also retune after every note they play, as they use strings made of sheep intestine. It was mostly played in the times of old, when bards would merrily skip around while playing the lute. There are several recorded instances of this causing severe medical issues.
History of the lute[edit | edit source]
The lute was created when some little known prince got bored and decided to force his minions to create a new instrument. This resulted in two instruments; this and the guitar. The prince "accidentally" stepped on the guitar, and they managed to hide the lute. Eventually the word got out and people began to make their own. As time progressed, they added a new string each year. Eventually they invented the Theorbo, the 1200 string lute.
Typical lute music[edit | edit source]
Lute music is composed of a wide variety of music, from ridiculous dances this guy would like to songs played at funerals. It is very common for lute players to add fingers to their hands so they can play extra notes. This results in insane compositions such as the one pictured here.
