- It looks like a real encyclopedia article. Ya know, with words and stuff.
- It has sections, paragraphs, and maybe an image or two.
- It has links to other articles.
- It has a body to go with its soul.
Galena (Not to be confused with Galena, Illinois) is a Hypothetical Moon of Jupiter which orbits farther out than the rest of the Gaellian moons. Its surface is very similar to Iapetus, mostly covered in dark regolith similar to the moon. It is slightly larger than Rhea at 1600 km. It is the Second smallest body in the solar system undergoing Hydrostatic Equilibrium, just behind the aforementioned rhea (Dumb bitch). It rotates every 67 hours. Along with Chiron it is one of the only bodies to not exist. (INFORMATION UPDATED! CHECK MOST RECENT IAU STATUS UPDATE).
Observational History[edit | edit source]
Galena was first hypothesized in 1863 by Abraham Lincoln whilst viewing Jupiter with a telescope from the white house's backyard. However the theory of Galena wouldnt be proposed until 1878 when well known astronomer Dickermouth Whilhelm III Proposed the moons existence to the council of royal chambers, After intense study by the fr*nch both parties concluded the Moon did not exist. In 1979 when Voyager 1 Passed within 120,000 Kilometers of the moon as it was performing a gravitational maneuver around Jupiter, Although no photo was ever taken of the moon, Measurements read an anomaly in voyagers path that altered its course by over 16 Million Kilometers at distance of 1/3 lightyears. Galileo confirmed the existence of the moon in 1998.
Exploration[edit | edit source]
Juno made a flyby of the moon in 2017, Capturing the first ever high quality photos of a Hypothetical Moon. In 2003 Nasa launched a Mission to attempt to land on the Moon, The lander arrived in orbit in 2024 And has successfully landed on the Moon, Confirming life outside of earth! There have been no plans to Ever land on the moon ever since.
