Yes that's right. The days of manually placing the {{Welcome}} template and a signature are long behind us, thanks to the all new autowelcome gadget! Once it's enabled under the hard-to-miss dropdown there are two options: Welcome and Welcome (custom). Welcome adds the bog standard welcome template with your signature to a user's talk page whilst Welcome (custom) adds whatever is at Special:MyPage/welcome with your signature.

To turn it on go to Special:Preferences, Gadgets and it's the 4th one down under Editing gadgets. Then find a new user, make that one click and let autowelcome worry about the rest. Some call it laziness, I call it convenient! With it's release so close to Spam Month, all that time you save can be reinvested in celebrating our yearly tradition as we make this the best spam month yet!
