Description

Designer:- Zhozef Kotin. Design No:- Object 730 Manufacturer:- Chelyabisnk Kirov Plant (ChKZ) Built:- 1953-1956 In service:- 1953-1996. Total production:- 200. Main armament:- 122mm rifled gun (model D-25TA) Originally designated the IS-8, but became the T-10 after the death of Stalin in 1953. The T-10 was the last of the classic Soviet heavy tanks and only served with the Soviet Union, not being exported to either Warsaw Pact countries or the Middle East. Removed from front-line service in 1966, the type was finally withdrawn from reserve use in 1996. On display in what is best known as Hall1 of the Kubinka Tank Museum, although its official title is now Pavilion 1 in Area 2 of the Park Patriot museum. Kubinka, Moscow Oblast, Russia.
