According to the GNU General Public License, mate selection needs to be compatible with the GPL. This means that sexually transmitted diseases must respect the four freedoms of the GPL and release their source code in compliance with the license. However, they only need to do so if they spread anytime from the moment of their infection to three years past the expiration date of the otherwise perpetual GPL, so pimples are excluded from releasing their source code.
