Occurence[edit | edit source]

The bilabial trill occurs very rarely in natural languages, however, it is a lot more frequent in constructed languages. This is because english speakers often find it hard to articulate any trills, and find it easier to just flap their lips around and call it a sound. These are also often syllabic, in conjunction with their paralinguistic usage in english because why not? Why not only include english sounds and not be creative?

Apart from paralinguistic usage in english, and usage in conlangs, the Bilabial trill is never used unless you are very cold. It is only used when you cannot think of a better trill to use. Why not try the velar trill, /ꭊ/ next?
