PEE REVIEW IN PROGRESS

Hyperbole is engaged in the dual processes
of giving you his opinion and pretending you care.
Humour: 2.75 Hey, Geoff. Let's have a look... see what've got.
  • Lede: 3. Okay, I don't know who Pete Chaff is, and this Lede seems fantastically random in light of that fact. The name of the song is amusing - and it looks like you wrote a companion article to it, too. But the anti-car-park-charging riots seem very random, and the comment on the types of lyrics Chaff wrote didn't seem very coherent to me. So, after reading this, I went over to Wikipedia to see if it has a basis in reality. It doesn't seem to. The Wurzels exist, of course, but there's no mention of them ever doing anything by a Pete Chaff. And Google returns pretty much only this.
So, this is an article about a fictional musician? Uncyclopedia has seen a lot of those. A lot. Most get deleted. And, honestly, I think you're going to lose most regular Uncylopedians right here, at the lede: it doesn't show a lot of promise for a compelling concept.
  • Life and Career (Intro): 3. Again, telling a random, zany, semi-plausible history of a fictional character is completely done to death on Uncyclopedia and doesn't garner a lot of laughs. Nothing here particularly got a smile out of me.
  • Life and Career (Family): 2. Not to be harsh, but there's absolutely nothing going for this section except for silly names. Otherwise, we just learn that the guy had six wives and many children. What's funny about that? That really happens.
  • Life and Career (Religious Beliefs): 3. I'm personally not a big fan of masturbation jokes, and so many people do blasphemy jokes that I think they have to be handled with extreme care. There are about forty "(blank) Jesus" articles on this wiki, like "Lobster Jesus" or "Clown Jesus", and they are almost all terrible. Blasphemy can be funny, but just being blasphemous is not enough in and of itself to be funny.
  • Death: 3. While there's a little irony in dying on the day you finish an album called "I'll Go On Forever," the buffalo stampede is just random. With no connection to anything else in the article, it just isn't funny.
Concept: 1 This article doesn't satirize anything. The concept seems to be "Let's make up a guy, and say random and zany things about him for a while." Well, that's really easy to do, and the result is almost never any good. Here, let me show you: "Norman G. Milf was a railroad conductor. Born in 1832, he was renowned for rarely getting lost and drinking a great deal of wine. An avid billiards player, Milf was often mocked for his shiny bald head." Funny? No... no, not really.

I hate to say it, but I don't think this article is salvageable. I think it would be best to take the few successful jokes in here - the name of the hit song, and the name of the final album - and see if they can fit into something that is an actual satire of something that exists.

Prose and formatting: 7 The prose and formatting are fine.
Images: 2 This is the kind of image that often accompanies these kinds of articles: find a picture of a morbidly obese, or insanely ugly, or very stupid-looking (or all three) man or woman, and associate it with the subject. It really doesn't work.
Miscellaneous: 2 Two.
Final Score: 14.75 I'm sorry for the harsh review. I don't mean to be discouraging, but I really, really don't think this article can be salvaged. I'd consider moving the few funny lines into (The Farmer's Wife's Got A Four Inch Crack In Her, But She Ain't) Broken and requesting that this one be deleted. Because this doesn't add to that article. It doesn't enhance its humor by fleshing out the universe it takes place in. It actually dulls its humor by making that universe seem, you know, pretty much like this one, only zany.

Best of luck!

Well, if ya know who the Wurzels are, and especially if you come from the West Country on England, there are a few rather funny lines in here. It obviously does not work for Americans though. They will never understand humour. MrN MrN9000SouthParksmall.jpg 10:08, Nov 22
