Rewrite in January, 2010

The first two voters on Votes For Deletion viewed the existing article as "not remotely funny." I saw it as a jargon-heavy in-joke among crewmembers and set out to improve the formatting, then added a final section that said, "Thank you for your attention. The preceding overview was written entirely by active members of the United States Air Force--who, as you would expect and hope, are better at flying than at joking." Ultimately, this disclaimer became unnecessary.

I devised the lengthy section with specific RC-135 configurations based on a deliberate misreading of the specs presented in Wikipedia article. I then deleted the existing first section, which claimed that the aircraft's missions were top secret (as the new section now spelled them out in detail). The deleted section also related the secrecy to Clinton-era skullduggery, although even Bush-era skullduggery is being phased out as passé. The final section is still a jargon-heavy in-joke with an apparent dollop of vanity.

Stacey Jane was not a project name for a configuration; it is a Karaoke bar on Hampton Beach in New Hampshire. But you don't know that. Lawn Jockey is a lawn jockey.

Service members are especially welcome to contribute material on this aircraft that civilians could understand and laugh at. You can also use this discussion page to suggest new directions for the article, which I may be able to convert into a finished product.
