Chapter 1[edit | edit source]
Well, it was my September 5th, 2012 and I just moved into the 11th grade at Packard Hall High School. People were rushing in the hallways, running, screaming or chatting with friends. I thought to myself that this was just going to be another boring year. Since everybody or should I say nearly everybody had a boyfriend or girlfriend, but I did not. I was walking to my locker and did my locker combination. I looked around me to see if anybody wanted to chat. Nobody did. My friend Peter, waved to me from across the hall and I waved back. Adrian Paris rushed past me in the halls nearly losing my balance I almost fell on the kid next to me. Luckily, I kept on my feet. I screamed to Adrian, “You almost made me lost my balance!” Adrian replied “I know.”
That didn’t bothered me at all or anything. Joe Freedman was walking into the school and I gave him a high-five. Almost every one here is my friend and I looked around again. I thought “Where are the Wyoming kids.” Many of them walked right past me and didn’t make eye contact. I turned back to take a binder and the time read 7:39. I heard a “Hello,” but I couldn’t recognize the voice of the girl and I turned around. It was this new chick and I had no idea who it was.
“Hi,” I replied “Who are you?”
“Ashley Lombardi and I’m from San Diego, California,” She said.
I thought to myself “Hot new chick named Ashley.”
“Oh, my name is Reese Anderson and I’ve been going here since 1st Grade.”
“Can you show me where my locker is?”
“I’ll be glad to.”
Peter joined us.
“Hey, Peter what’s up?”
“Hey Reese, nothing.”
“Hi.”
“Hey Ashley, I’m Peter but you can call me…”
“Do you want to go out?”
Peter replied “Yes, I would love to…”
“Not you… Reese… would you go out on a date with me?”
“Sure, I would love to go out with you.”
Chapter 2[edit | edit source]
Later that day, “I would love to learn more about you” Ashley said.
“Sure I have a mom and dad. I have four siblings of the ages 14, 11, 7 and 4.”
“Well, I have a mom and dad. I have two younger sisters of the ages 10 and 7.”
“Sweet. I play drums and sing. I love the Buffalo Bills and NASCAR.”
“I play guitar and sing, love Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac.”
“So do I. I’m not a big Stevie Nicks fan.”
“Then who do you like?”
“The Beatles, The Who and Pink Floyd.”
“Oh, that’s cool. I’ll start to listen to those bands as soon as I get home.”
“I also like… Journey.”
“So do I! Steve Perry is so cute!”
“Wow. I like Steve Smith and the drummer before him!”
“Yeah, why?”
“I'm a big fan of Miley Cyrus."
“What?! You’re just joking around. Are you now?”
“Yes, I hate her and what bus do you ride?”
“I’m going to start riding bus… whichever goes on South Street Road.”
“Hey, that’s my bus! Bus 45!”
“Really?! That’s your bus too?!”
“Yeah, I live on Black Street Road. So we live about 5 minutes away from each other.”
“Would you like to come over to my house tonight?”
“Yes, I would love to go over.”
“Bye."
Chapter 3[edit | edit source]
I went over to Ashley’s house tonight and… “Jeff!” screams a voice.
I know that voice from anywhere… it’s Alyssa?
“What are you doing here?”
“I’m here to play with Ashley.”
“I told Mackenzie all about you and I just told that you are amazing!”
“That’s right. I’m amazing and cool.”
“My mom and dad just died. They died in a car accident on the highway,” sobered Mackenzie.
“Oh… that’s sad, Mackenzie. Sorry to hear that…”
“And my older sister, Chloe!” cried Mackenzie.
“You’ve got to help her, Jeff,” Alyssa said with a puppy face “Please!”
“Alright I’ll see what I can do.”
“Reese, my older sister, Ashley, is being my new “mom.” You could be the “dad.” What do you say?”
“Mackenzie, that’s so sweet of you but I live with my parents.”
“Hey, you could be the dad that lives in a different country and comes back every once in awhile,” queued Alyssa “That way you live in your own house and come back to visit every once in awhile.”
“That’s a great idea,” I said “I will play as the dad of Mackenzie.”
“Thanks!” Mackenzie said.
“What I miss?” asked Ashley.
“Jeff, is going to be Mackenzie’s new dad” said Alyssa.
“How sweet of you Reese” said Ashley.
“Well, it was more a demand than an ask” I replied.
“You know people are feeling that you are becoming more of a gentleman each day” said Ashley.
Chapter 4[edit | edit source]
It was 7:03 and I just got on the bus. I decide I’m going to sit in the front seat but when I got on the two front seats were occupied by 6th graders. I thought to myself “stupid kids.” I sit in the seat behind two girls and next to a kid named Leo Ball. Me and him were friends but not too close of friends. The two girls in front of me were giggling. We got on South Street and pick up some 8th Grader and then we go pass Ryan Ponder’s house (friend of mine) and then pass Adrian’s. We go to a house that is blue and Ashley walks out to the bus. She gets on and sits next to me. She says “Hey, what’s up?”
“Nothing much, how about you?”
“Good, why are we sitting up here?”
“I always sit up in the front, is that a problem?”
“No, not at all”
“Okay, then why were you complaining?”
“I wasn’t complaining at all!”
“Oh, that’s Tanner.”
“I don’t know the rest of these kids.”
“Yes you do,” one of them said. “I’m Annabelle, this is Taylor and Morgan.”
“Yeah, and that one is you’re worst nightmare!’ exclaimed Tanner.
“Then it’s very good to meet you all,” answered Ashley “I’m Ashley!”
“Yep, and this is Chris Faulk,” I said.
Well, it was after and I needed to stay after. I asked “Ashley, are you staying after?”
“I am.”
Chapter 5[edit | edit source]
On the bus ride home, I was the first one to get on the bus to go home. I saw many kids get on the bus. Rose noticed her sister and waved. Ashley waved back. Rose said “Don’t worry Reese, Alyssa is getting on.” She was right. Alyssa came on the bus and I hid myself. “Shh,” I told Rose and Ashley. Alyssa said “Is Peter on I have a surprise for him?”
Mackenzie shook her head. “Nope.”
“It’s very special and I have something for him.”
“He’s not on.”
“Those sneakers look exactly like his.”
“Okay, I’m on and by the way I had to give in.” I said.
“Peter,” Alyssa said running “You are on!”
