Parody of a parody?

I thought that the flat earth society, like pastafarianism, was MEANT to be so ridiculous it was funny, and wasn't supposed to be taken seriously. I thought that people PRETENDED to believe that the Earth is flat so that they could argue for the sake of debate. If so, then perhaps the article would be funnier if, as with the article on Pastafarianism, it viewed it as if it were a serious and viable view. – Preceding unsigned comment added by Steka7 (talk • contribs)

People actually believed that the world was flat. Unless you want to make a new article, called the Spherical Earth Society, which would be totally ridiculous. I see what you're getting at, but...
