Petevacantism
Petevcantism is a theological position which holds that the The Chair of St. Peter has been vacant since the Apostles death. Its adherents are known as *Petites*, believe that all St. Peters successors are notorious heretics in fact and has been deviated from the true religion of christianity and the practice of fishing. Petevacantists believe that other popes are anti popes who hold illegitimate office to the Holy see. Petevacantists believe that Jesus in Matther 18:16 - 18 intented only for peter to hold the throne, and the chair of peter never intented to hold successors.
Beliefs[edit | edit source]
Petevacantists teach that only the *True Peter* may sit on the throne, but since he is dead it says empty and there is no one who can claim it.
History[edit | edit source]
The movement began in 2025 when two theology autodidact students realised that "there is no true pope after peter". One of the students created a church in a basement of an apartment complex in Vilnius, and holds weekly services praying that Jesus Christ will take the throne of peter after a long vacancy during his second coming. There may be a great schism between Petevacantists and a new form of Petevacantsim may arise called Neo Petevacantism.
Key Doctrines[edit | edit source]
- Sedevacans Petrus - the seat of peter is empty after St. Peter.
- Nulla Ex Cathedra - There are no formal statements from the magisterium regarding teaching about faith and morals, after the council of Jerusalem.
