Oneonta, New York, is allegedly a city located in Otsego County, New York. It is one of the most northernmost cities of Appalachia, which is a wild take until you go to the Walmart. It is home to the State University of New York College at Oneonta, Hartwick College, only one McDonald's, and 13,709 people. 13,708 of those are students, and one is Scott.

Oneonta originated as the southern post of the Oneonta Richfield Springs Railway, which shut down in the 1950s due to a mass exodus of people desiring to live in Oneonta. Oneonta means "Place of the Weird Smell" in Mohawk, alluding to the scent that emanates from a basement located near the current-day intersection of Center Street and Ford Avenue. The current residents of that intersection are affected by the scent.
