Summary

Description

Soviet Cold-war era amphibious infantry fighting vehicle The BMP-1 was the Soviet Union’s first mass-produced infantry fighting vehicle. Over 40,000 were produced, mostly in Czechoslovakia and the Soviet Union, but also in China and India. This appears to be an ex-Iraqi Army example captured during the 1991 Gulf War. It is on display in the ‘Warsaw Pact 1945-1991’ hall. Musée des Blindés, Saumur, Pays de la Loire, France
