Forum:Addressing the sockpuppetry concerns
It has recently come to my attention that Llwy-ar-lawr is suspected of engaging in sockpuppetry. After doing some research, I have come to the conclusion that these concerns are entirely valid and the scope of the socking is far greater than we originally thought: everyone on the entire wiki is his sockpuppet. This may sound ridiculous, but that is only because some of the sockpuppets may have become self-aware through the effects of a severe form of Multiple Personality Disorder, and therefore don't want to admit that they're socks, even to themselves.
The evidence is as follows:
- Llwy-ar-lawr often edits at the same time of day as other editors
- All the editors speak the same language and use some of the same turns of phrase
- Llwy-ar-lawr does not always disagree with everyone; his opinions tend to be shared by at least one other editor
- Some editors are able to spell Llwy-ar-lawr correctly, when this is impossible for any normal person (those who can't spell it are obviously faking it)
- Bizzeebeever has admitted to being Llwy's sockpuppet, as well as that of several other admins
- Llwy-ar-lawr and Lyrithya often talk about muffins, tacos, cake, pie, fanged muffins, fanged hams, etc
- Many editors, including Llwy-ar-lawr, are (or claim to be) regulars on both Illogicopedia and Wikipedia
- As Uncyclopedia is widely considered to be dying and unpopular, it makes no sense that it has such a large community; it must be only one person
- Llwy-ar-lawr registered the account ALL USERS, which not only represents all users but claims on its user page to be a sock of EugeneKay
- Many editors disagree with each other; this is clearly a strategy to cover up the fact that they are all sockpuppets, or at least it started that way, though it may have resulted in multiple personalities inside one person's head
- Many editors, including Llwy-ar-lawr, are known and admitted sockpuppeteers: Bizzeebeever has a sock named TaterTits, Llwy-ar-lawr has a sock named Mousemice, and Lyrithya has a whole army of socks including Sockalockalock, Lilivati and Athyria; Llwy and Lyrithya have both used their socks to abuse voting processes
Furthermore, as the Llwy-ar-lawr account is relatively new, the sockmaster must be someone else. The most likely choice would seem to be Chronarion: he founded the wiki and has an obvious interest in ensuring that it looks like it has an active community; the fact that his main account has never logged in is probably a ploy to hide the truth.
In light of this egregious sockpuppetry that has been going on for nearly ten years and fooled us all into thinking we were part of a meaningful, vibrant community, it seems clear to me that the correct course of action is to block everyone and remove advanced permissions from the accounts that illegitimately obtained them (which would be all the current admins, crats, etc). Furthermore, as the ALL USERS account is currently indefinitely blocked, and it represents all users, all other accounts on the wiki are engaging in blatant block evasion; yet another reason to block them.
I am fully aware that I am addressing this speech to an audience composed entirely of socks, and that I am a sock myself, but I have confidence that at least one person will take these concerns seriously and make steps toward resolving the situation. – Llwy-ar-lawr (talk • contribs • logs) 20:19, 28 Jul 2014
