Liberalism, especially Classical Liberalism, is a political belief based on equality BEFORE the law. It is mainly held by classical liberals, some libertarians, and a small amount of right-wingers. It is a failed ideology. It should not be confused with Libertarianism, which is another bad ideology based around liberty. Its alleged opposite is Conservatism, an ideology based on doing nothing but maintaining the status quo. However, its objective opposite is any group or ideology which puts law BEFORE equality, which is visible in ideologies such as Communism.

Liberalism is also (unfortunately) often confused and conflated with leftism, which is the complete opposite and mortal enemy of real liberalism. This is mainly due to the fact that many leftists hijacked the term and call themselves liberals or libertarians, despite liberals and libertarians having nothing in common with leftists (except for maybe the freedom to have a fetus feast).
