UnNews:We outlived Wikinews, there is no God
Tuesday, April 14, 2026
Well, you're not going to believe this. UnNews has officially outlived Wikinews. On May 4, 2026, Wikinews will be shut down because no one reads it. Plus, most of the things on Wikinews aren't that reliable anyways. Not only that, but it feels like that UnNews has been visited more times than Wikinews.
It just feels like that we are more reliable than them. Look, UnNews has been alive for what, two decades? And Wikinews has lasted since 2004. Even though we are much younger than them, we somehow manage to reel in more writers and readers in. But apparently, the people behind Wikinews are going to migrate to Miraheze, which is another wiki hosting site.
Hey, at least it's going to be read-only, right? Except there will be more news sources published every day after May 4th, 2026. And then Wikinews will probably be rendered obsolete in 10 years. There is no god. There was a proposal back last year to close it down because of the reasons mentioned, and guess what? The shutdown is going to happen, thanks to Wikimedia.
Looks like we're one of the last reliable news sources on the Internet. Send help.
