UnNews:Knicks fire Brown for not sweeping Finals

MADISON SQUARE GARDEN, NEW YORK CITY — After leading the New York Knicks to their first NBA Finals title in 53 years, Mike Brown is out. The Knicks fired Brown on Monday, just two days after their Game 5 victory over the San Antonio Spurs sealed the world championship for the Big Apple for the first time in over half a century, for being too soft and not sweeping the Finals, the team announced.

In a statement, Knicks owner James Dolan thanked Brown for his contributions but said the move was "best for [his] organization moving forward, or somewhere or something".

“My organization is singularly focused on completely unrealistic expectations, regardless of what the fans want. This pursuit led me to the irrational decision to inform Mike Brown that I've decided to move in another direction, though just like last year I have no idea what that direction is. I've already thanked Mike enough for accomplishing what I think some people are telling me was an unprecedented championship run. Ultimately, I made the decision I feel is best for my organization to outheadline Tunisia. In fact, I'm firing my star players Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns too! They're not starry enough! I want more star players like Wemby!”

The move comes as no surprise considering the Knicks did the same thing last year to Tom Thibodeau. Thibs had taken over a dilapidated joke of a franchise on a seven-season playoff drought and turned them into a winning team in a New York minute. The Knicks had enjoyed their most successful season in 25 years and reached the Eastern Conference Finals when Dolan decided that getting better every year, getting deeper in the playoffs, and getting closer to a championship was not the "direction" he wanted to go in.

Apparently Brown was also fired because he couldn't rein in KAT's zestiness enough

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver expressed admiration and gratitude for Dolan's decision. "I think it's great that other professional sports leagues are flirting with the coaching carousel, but it's important that they all remember who they're playing second fiddle to. I was marginally concerned when Vegas fired Bruce Cassidy fewer than three years after he brought the Golden Knights their only Stanley Cup ever, but I fell out of my chair this morning when I saw that Tunisia thought they could increase their chances of winning the World Cup by firing their coach in the middle of it. My god, what a novelty. I knew something had to be done, and I'm very grateful that Jim already did it for me. As usual, I don't have to do anything," Silver said.

After releasing his statement, Dolan spoke with reporters and elaborated on his intelligent decision-making. "Mike knew what he was getting himself into, it's win or bust, that's why I have so many championships under my belt. And when I saw win, I mean really win, domination isn't even enough. You guys know my volcanic temper can't handle these 4-1 series victories, that's too close," Dolan said.

When asked about Brown's and the Knicks' historic 29-point comeback victory in Game 4, Dolan replied, "Meh. I didn't like how we were down that much to that stupid Frenchman Wemby. We are an American team. Who in the world almost loses to those stupid surrender artists?? And Wemby even said he dominated us even though we won! Stupid Wemby! I wanted to dominate him! Neener neener"
