Background information[edit]

Typhoon Vongfong was retired in February 2021. But it only killed 5 people and did a mere $50 million in damages. Only $31.1 million were in the Phillippines, in mid May. They are just being a bunch of bitches, nonetheless, it is a contreversal retirement. Write your background here.

Argument[edit]

Should Typhoon Vongfong should have been retired, because Typhoon Ambo was, as it caused more then a billion Filipino dollars?

Yes[edit]

Of course! Ambo was retired, this should have easily been as well. Of course! Nobody cares if it did low damage and deaths! Just look at storms like Ioke! No one died, damage was $88 million and it was retired! Klaus of 1990 did $1 million and only killed 11. I bet it is notable because it was in fucking May.

No[edit]

Hell no! No one will remember this over Vongfong of 2014! That did 9 deaths, $161 million, was the most severe of 2004, and sunk a research carrier. The Philippines need to have a more flexitive system, god damn wow they can't even handle just a minor storm. I'm amazed. I'm shocked and disappointing. If the Philippines didn't have this stupid system, then this would not have been retired at all. Wow. Hopefully next time they will listen to us.

Ioke was only retired, by the fucking way, due to its intensity and longetivity, Saint Lucia from Klaus saw 15% of its yearly banana crop. All Vongfong did was vong fongs!

Argument[edit]

Ok, I'll agree Typhoon Vongfong shouldn't have been retired, but what about Ambo?

Yes[edit]

Of course! Only one other Ambo has a Wikipedia article, and did not affect the Philippines as a tropical cyclone. Typhoon Neoguri killed 26 and did $65 million in damages, albeit 22 deaths are disputed(WP forgot to update there page. Fuck you Wikipedia!), but most of the damage and the 3 confirmed deaths are, indeed, in China. Thus, this is the worst storm with that name in the nation.

No[edit]

Are you fucking kidding me? Many storms don't get retired with that argument. PASAGA's stupid "$20 million and retirement" crap is bullshit. BULL SHIT! If that was the case, Hurricane Arthur of 2014 should've been retired, by far the worst storm with that name in the East Coast. But guess what? It wasn't! Why? Only 2 people died and damage was fuckin forty million! Sure, that's not as much as Vongfong. But guess what? There are trillions of other examples, like Bret 1993 in Venezuela! Therefore, you can't make those stupid arguments and you should feel bad.

Verdict[edit]

The verdict is that Vongfong should not have been retired, nor should Ambo. The Philippines need to stop being little babies, crying "wolf" because of a minor storm. Especially when, in October and November, 3 storms actually did pound their anus. It should go up to a requirement of at least $200 million, ten billion Filipinos.
