Forum:Uncyclopedia Theme Song
I think I'm going to do this whether or not anyone gives a flying fuck, but I'm going to write an (unoffical) Uncyclopedia theme song, and I'm looking for input. Here are some things that are not open for discussion:
- Whether or not this is a good/bad idea. It's goin' to get done.
- The style of music. This is going to be a punk song around one minute I can play live.
The kind of input I'm looking for would be:
- Lyrical suggestions (All I have so far is Uncyclopedia...what a complete waste of fucking tiiiiiiiiiiiiii-yi-yi-yi-yiiiiii-iiiiiiiiime)
- Tempo - fast, faster, really, really fast
- The attitude - hard, irreverent, classical, slightly drowsy
- Song title

- Wikipedia have their own wiki song, with other ideas for songs there as well. Perhaps you could borrow some ideas from there.

- I envision Uncyclopedia's theme song to be rather parodic in nature, and thus, it should have some elements from stuff that really doesn't go there. IE: a punk song that uses cute-sy little kid words, curse words, and latin all in the same sentence; a punk song that incorporates some rap; other wierd crap. That's my two cents (Help! I'm running out of internet fun-money!).--<<>> 20:28, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
- Tempo: By using the equations in the maths section I have worked out that the tempo must be ... something's gone wrong there... [types in numbers in calculator] [mutters something about the value of x]... . So tempo=fastish. That equation makes absolutely no sense whatsoever but... that's the sort of tempo you should use.

- Fastish, eh? Have no fear, it will be fastish. As per Brad's suggestion, some stylistic juxtaposition would be easy enough, and a good idea.
- I'm looking for a weird time signature, too... like 19/8. --Distinction 21:32, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
- I had a pair of lyrical ideas:
- This wiki seems to thrive on in-jokes, so maybe a bunch of those would do the trick. Harmonizing on "kitten huffing" would be satisfying and rewarding.
- It's not the best idea, but I thought perhaps a musical rendition of The Aristocrats joke, replacing the punchline with "Uncyclopedia" could work.
- Fastish, eh? Have no fear, it will be fastish. As per Brad's suggestion, some stylistic juxtaposition would be easy enough, and a good idea.

In Rangoon at the stroke of noon, they type penispenispenis and run, But mad dogs and Adminses huff to have their fun. In a Belgian town where the sun beats down they’ll revert til the sun goes down, And Euroipods will be featured and hardly raise a frown. In Singapore kids of four will upload Goatse pics with glee, And perma-bans will stalk the lands from now til half past three. Thoughts of France piss off the yanks, freedom fries with that? In the afternoon the ladies swoon at the amount of submitted crap. Through murky swamps where Cthulhu romps to the top of the highest hill, We stand united Uncyclopedians, editing and reverting is our thrill.

Progress
All right! Got the chords hashed out, some words scribbled on a piece of paper, and the sky's the limit. I like the chord progression so much I'm going to steal my own music...is that even possible? — 2nd Lt. Sir David, the Weasel of Wild KUN VFH FP Fire! 13:25, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
